Tuesday marks Election Day, and one of the biggest races in the region is the fight for Centre County District Attorney. Michael Madeira, the current DA, faces a tough race against democrat Stacy Parks-Miller. The latest finance reports show Parks-Miller has raised more money recently.

Meantime, election workers across the state spent most of Monday getting ready. In Johnstown, Herb Ewald set up the voting machines and made sure they are working properly. He has been working the polls for more than 50 years, and is encouraging everyone to get out and vote

People in the Southmont area will vote at the McCullough house,  an assisted living home on Cheney Oak Drive. Next year, the polls will return to the Overbrook Church.
In Centre County, a longtime election worker is about to reach a milestone.

This will be the 100th election where Jerry Halderman of Milesburg has been a part of the election staff. Halderman retired from his county government job years ago,  but keeps coming back to help set up the election equipment. Halderman has worked every Centre County election- since 1959.
