Christmas is back on for some children in Somerset County. The phone has been ringing off of the hook at the Windber police department, with people wanted to know how they can help save a Christmas program, that gives kids in need gifts, and their families food vouchers, for the holiday. It was cut after the boroughs secretary, a key organizer, was laid off. But now it seems the residents are going to do everything they can to keep it going. But they still have some catching up to do, about $4,000 worth. Windber police will accept any monetary donation or gift -- except stuffed animals because of children with allergies.
