Joining Forces To Save Lives

Three fire departments in Somerset County have joined together. Scalp Level Paint, Windber, and Central City's fire crews will start training together and using each others equipment. Officials say this will help them broaden their horizons when it comes to protecting the public.

The new alliance is not a merger, because the crews didn't sign an official agreement. But they hope their success will encourage other departments to mirror them, saving money in the process.
