Somerset County Fair Kicks Off

The Somerset County Fair kicked off Thursday afternoon in Meyersdale, with Organizers celebrating 124 years of the Fair this year. The Fair runs through the 24th and features different events each day. They include: Sakhee Horse Races, Animal Auctions, Animal Judging, carnival rides, square dancing, lots of food vendors and much more.

This weekend will also feature a bake sale auction, where all proceeds go to a local family in need. Organizers say Wednesday is a big night this year, when the fair features a full blown Rodeo.

Somerset County Fair President – David Berkey says there are a lot of old and new events to check out this year. Berkey saying: “We have a pretty big schedule involved for this year. We have a lot of changes; we have a brand new Carnival with more rides and bigger rides, and are family owned, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Admission into the Fair is $12 a person.
