Trump To Visit Johnstown This Friday

Saturday morning, former President Donald Trump announced his plans to visit the First Summit Arena in Johnstown on Friday. Jackie Kulback with the Cambria County Republican Committee said she’s been hopeful that this would happen.

“We had Trump a few times in 2020, but having a rally in the War Memorial just takes it to a whole new level. That is where we’ll be able to get as many people as possible into the rally to be able to see and hear what Trump has to say,”

Kulback said she’s seen an increased number of Cambria County residents looking to register to vote this year, and she said she expects to see even more leading up to the rally.

She said, “Just when I thought it’s impossible to get more people to register to vote, we’re seeing people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who have never registered to vote to come in to say ‘Can you please help me register to vote?’ I didn’t see that in 2016 and 2020.”

Some Johnstown residents said that while they don’t support Trump, his rally could have a positive impact on the community.

“To be honest, I will not attend this ceremony. I don’t like his policies. I never did. I will not vote for him. I didn’t vote for him before, But I think it’s probably good for the area that he’s going to show up, and those that support him I’m sure will be out in huge numbers.”

Kulback said that since the announcement, her office has been extremely busy.

Doors to the rally open on Friday at 12:30, and the rally will begin at 4:30.
