The Cambria County Coroner and District Attorney revealed at a press conference on Monday that 32 year old Isaiah C Hixon was killed Sunday Morning at around 2:30 in Johnstown. They say the death is being ruled a Homicide.

“This is Cambria County’s ninth homicide for the year, the sixth for the city.”

That’s what Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said after announcing that Isaiah C Hixon died in the operating room of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center on Monday after being shot multiple times on the 900 block of Ash Street in Johnstown.

At a news conference on Monday, District Attorney Greg Neugebauer revealed that Hixon was not the intended target of the shooting. Investigators are describing it as a drive by incident

“Based on that information, it appears that the perpetrator or perpetrators of this sort of had an idea that the intended target or intended targets were going to be where they were.”

Lees confirmed that the two others that were shot alongside Hixon are expected to survive, but their names are not being released at this time. Neugebauer says that Hixon, who was originally from New Jersey, was an innocent bystander who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“We believe that the deceased was familiar with some of the folks that were there. And for lack of a better way to put it, we think it was just stopping by and saying hi because he saw them out.”

Investigators say that there are no suspects in custody, but are asking anyone who lives in the area that might have surveillance footage to check their recordings for anything suspicious.

“Even a small tidbit of information that someone might have may seem trivial truly can be a difference maker. In a case like this, we have some leads, we have information we’re following up on. But you can never have too much information.”

Officials say that if you have any information, contact the Johnstown Police Department at 814-539-0889.
