Johnstown Voter Transportation To Polling Locations

With the election quickly approaching, Alan Cashaw and Deacon Jeffrey Wilson with the Johnstown NAACP explained that they want to make sure that no voter is left behind. To give everyone an opportunity, they say they’re providing transportation from Johnstown communities to polling locations across the city.

“We want to make sure that everybody has an opportunity to vote. we want to make sure that there are no barriers obstacles to them getting out to the polls.”

Cashaw and Wilson explained that a community leader offered to sponsor two vans for election day. They said that on November 5th, the vans will travel across the Johnstown area.

“We want to hit all of the communities within the city of Johnstown, across the East Side of the city, Moxham, Hornerstown, and of course all of the West Side of the city so pretty much we want to touch base with all of the neighborhoods,”

They say that they hope for all community members to be prepared and have a voting plan ahead of the election.

“Nothing is more important in the American way of life than to be able to cast your vote and be a real part of the fabric of American society.” Cashaw added, “Vote. It is your United States citizen’s right to vote.”
