The Bellefonte School Board deciding that two elementary schools will close in the district.
Tuesday Night’s Board vote to close the Bellefonte and Benner Elementary Schools comes as construction is underway on a new Elementary School.
That work is expected to be completed next year.
The Bellefonte and Benner Schools will be closed at the end of the 2025-2026 school year.
And the District Superintendent put out a statement Tonight regarding the closures saying in part quote
“This decision was driven by our commitment to ensuring the wellbeing and success of all students in the District.”
“The physical challenges of the buildings, combined with the need to allocate resources to facilities that can better meet the long term needs of our students, made this an
unavoidable conclusion.”
