Bill Clinton Visits Johnstown

Former president Bill Clinton visited Johnstown on Tuesday, showing his support for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.

He also talked about some of the comments that former president Donald Trump made at his rally on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

The former president was joined by other prominent figures, including Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh and Independent David Thornburgh, addressing concerns over Donald Trump’s recent rhetoric in New York while stressing the power of early voting.

Clinton responded to comments former president Trump made Sunday night in Madison Square Garden, where he characterized those opposing him as “enemies from within” and used inflammatory language about fellow Americans.

During the rally, before Trump spoke, a comedian made a joke about the island of Puerto Rico that some found offensive.

“One of the greatest honors of being president is being the Commander in Chief of our armed forces, Puerto Ricans are among the most likely people to serve in our military, to put their lives on the line, like Americans and so I’d like to say that just for this one day, we are all Puerto Ricans.”

Clinton emphasized that the stakes in this election go beyond politics, urging Pennsylvanians to stand against divisive language and to choose leaders who prioritize unity.

“You want to vote for somebody who will bring us together, seek out the best minds wherever they are, who doesn’t pretend to know everything but believe me, she is more than knowledgeable and experienced and strong enough to be President of the United States”

Tuesday’s rally reinforced the importance of voter participation as a powerful tool for change, with Clinton, Davis and others encouraging Pennsylvanians to make their voices
heard early.
