Cambria County Joining Nationwide Insulin Lawsuit

Cambria County is the latest to join a nationwide lawsuit against some Big Pharma manufacturers over what they call an unfair scheme to inflate insulin prices.

The lawsuit names pharmacy benefit managers along with several drug manufacturers including well known Eli Lilly.

County officials say they’re hoping to get some money back and help alleviate healthcare costs for those affected.

“Cambria County is really just one of the pieces as we’re looking at this this is not even a Pennsylvania or local litigation. This will be global; this is going to be throughout the United States as well. Right now, we have multiple entities in different counties, including Pittsburgh Public and other school districts, who are getting involved throughout the area,”

Officials say there is no out-of-pocket cost to the county in joining the lawsuit.
