A Cambria County man is behind bars for allegedly threatening to throw a woman off a bridge.
Police say just before 2 A.M. Tuesday 49-year-old Merle Painter threatened to stab the woman and throw her off the Franklin Street Bridge in Johnstown.
Police say when Merle was apprehended nearby, he resisted arrest and officers found a multi-tool knife in his backpack.
Merle is charged with multiple offenses, including felonies for aggravated assault.
He is being housed in the Cambria County Prison on $20 thousand dollars bail
