In Centre County another legal challenge to the planned casino has been filed in the State Supreme Court.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board recently awarded a license for a new casino to be built at the former Macy’s store site at the Nittany Mall.
But another casino developer, who lost in the license bid process, is asking the Supreme Court to vacate the Gaming Board decision.
At issue is the authority of the Gaming Control Board, and the financing used by the group who was awarded the casino license.
It could hold up the project for years, because the final issuance of the gaming license cannot move forward until the court appeals are exhausted.
