Clearfield County residents raising concerns over the Cooper Township Municipal Authority’s response to water tank issues.
The Municipal Authority says that they do have the resources to battle these kinds of fires as seen over the past three months.
However, money is needed to upgrade and improve these water systems.
They say that the issue relies on transmission capacity, which means that old water lines will need to be improved.
The issue coming to the forefront in December during a fatal fire in Windburne and then again after Yesterday’s apartment fire that displaced more than a dozen people

“Well, I’m a consultant. I think I safely speak for the Cooper Township Municipal Authority in that they are continuing to work on improving the system. Looking for sources of funding.
We are currently preparing a grant application, which I think may be able to help with some of our fire suppression concerns.
And the only thing we can do is keep working and keep moving forward.”
The Cooper Township Municipal Authority says that they will continue to have conversations with local fire companies on how to improve water availability
