Johnstown Police are investigating a shooting that sent a woman to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the back

We have the latest now as Johnstown Police Chief Mark Britton says that there are person’s of interest in the case

Police say gunfire erupted just after 10 pm on Monday Night on the 700 block of Cypress Avenue.

Investigators were asking residents in the area to review surveillance video footage from around the time of the shootingbas witnesses reported seeing multiple people flee the area.

Police say that the victim is expected to survive and her injuries are not deemed life threatening.

Johnstown Police Chief Mark Britton says he cannot comment on whether the victim has been released from the hospital just yet, but says two different types of gun shells were recovered from the scene

Now the shells are being examined at the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Lab,

Police have received video from neighbors in the area and detectives are reviewing the footage but are still asking residents to provide more video if they have any available.

“So what we want to do is get those people that have it that are maybe in that area or even further away that they may have seen something, heard something to send that in, either like I said they can send it in through email to one of our detectives or they can call in to the tip 411. They can call the 911 center and our detectives or one of our patrolmen will go out and pick that video up from them.”

The investigation is still ongoing and officials say if anyone has any further information, they should contact the Johnstown Police Department
