Governor Josh Shapiro visited Bedford and Blair Counties this past Friday as he continues to tout a new Law that increases oversight of Pharmacy Benefit Managers. After making a stop at northern Bedford pharmacy in New Enterprise Friday morning, Shapiro stopped by Thompson Pharmacy in Hollidaysburg. There he did a Ceremonial Bill Signing.
Shapiro describing PBM’s as the hidden, unregulated middlemen of the pharmaceutical supply chain who negotiate drug prices and pass costs down to Pennsylvanians. Dozens of independent pharmacies have closed their doors this year.
