A man that allegedly killed his girlfriend and left her body along a Johnstown trail was back in court early today.
Christopher Rowe’s trial started at the Cambria County Courthouse with him being accused of killing his girlfriend Kaylene Roedel was found dead on the side of Johnstown’s Honan Avenue Hiking Trail.
Today six witnesses took the stand and a responding Johnstown Police Officer says he found the body undressed with clothing cut up beside the body on the trail.
A cousin of Roedel says they talked nearly everyday, but when she did not hear from Roedel for a few days she reported Roedel missing just a few days before Roedel was found on August 7th 2016.
Prosecutors with the Attorney General’s Office say Rowe changed his story in several interviews he did with investigators but his defense says he voluntarily did each interview and that prosecutors are asking the jury to believe
some of his statements and disregard others.
Rowe continues to maintain his innocence and proceeding are set to continue Tomorrow at 9 a.m
