If you’re interested in Blacksmithing, Cambria County has the event for you over the next couple of days.
Starting Today the 50th Anniversary of the Blacksmithing Conference is taking place at Peoples Natural Gas Park and Central Park in Downtown Johnstown.
You’ll be able to see forging demonstrations and competitions from world class blacksmiths at the conference.
You can also participate in craft and Blacksmithing classes.
There’s even activities for children.
Organizers say about 350 people are already signed up for the conference.
Abana’s Headquarters are in Johnstown which is why organizers say they decided to hold the conference there.
“This is traditionally a steel area Bethlehem steel was here. this is a whole steel corridor, this is where coal came from so it seemed like an appropriate place to have the conference and you know we’re kind of super excited about that.”
The conference runs through the weekend with the last day being on Sunday
