Johnstown Man In Custody Accused Of Killing His Brother

As of early Today a local homicide suspect is now in custody

After being accused of shooting and killing his own Brother with a Crossbow Sunday Night

Authorities say 47 year old Phillip Bermudez was taken into custody outside his Bedford Street home in Johnstown without incident, on Wednesday

They say the Special Emergency Response Team was also there to assist in the operation which happened around 12:30 pm.

Cambria County District Attorney, Greg Neugebauer says Bermudez is accused of shooting and killing his brother with a crossbow, Alfredo Cabrera during a fight at their Bedford St. home Sunday Night.

Investigators say a bomb squad was called to the home out of caution just after the incident happened, But they say no bomb was found at the home.

They say Bermudez is currently dealing with mental health issues.

Bermudez is charged with homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned on those charges just before three Wednesday Afternoon

Bermudez has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 3rd
