Two people were injured Tuesday in a multi-vehicle crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Westmoreland County, according to a Turnpike spokesperson.
Officials say the crash occurred just after 9 a.m. near the 95.8 westbound mile marker.
Authorities say two tractor-trailers reportedly crashed, overturned and traveled down an embankment.
Officials say local first responders were dispatched to the scene and two individuals were transported to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville with undisclosed injuries.
Authorities say the roadway was partially closed/blocked for several hours but has since reopened, however, the right-hand shoulder remains closed in the area.
Officials say Turnpike crews will return on Wednesday to remove the vehicles, once the weather conditions improve.
State police Troop T, in Somerset, is investigating the crash.
