Officials with the Cambria County DA’s office say the juvenile who escaped from a state treatment facility has been taken into custody.
The juvenile was arrested in February following a threat investigation at Westmont Hilltop School District.
Police say the juvenile had reportedly left multiple threatening notes at the schools.
Authorities say the juvenile is being returned to a “secure environment.”
Authorities with the Westmont Hilltop School District say they were notified Wednesday that the juvenile who was arrested in February for leaving multiple, threatening notes at the school district has reportedly fled from the treatment facility where they were being housed.
School officials say the facility is located out of the area and there is no indication that students and staff are in any danger.
However, out of an abundance of caution, the school is taking additional safety measures, district Superintendent Tom Mitchell said in a statement.
Officials also added that authorities in Cambria County are working with law enforcement in the county where the facility is located to help find the juvenile.
